Initial telephone and email consultation is free of charge. I also offer a no cost, brief face-to-face consultation.
Reduced fees: Approximately 20% of my practice is dedicated to work with couples and individuals who aren't able to afford the full cost of therapy. Fee reductions are on a means and circumstances based scale. Because I limit reduced fee services to 20% of my practice there is usually a waiting list for these services.
Clinical Supervision, EFT Supervision and Consultation Services: If you are an intern seeking clinical supervision please contact me directly via phone or email to discuss formats and fees.
Please note: Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. Cash, check, credit and debit card payments may be made in the office.
I am a plan provider for a number of different plans including:
Hometown Health Plan and some employee plans for Cities of Reno and Sparks, PEBP State of NV, Renown, Washoe County School District and others.
Insurance plans usually have different reimbursement rates for "in-network" and "out-of-network" providers. In-network providers can usually bill the plan directly. If I am not an in-network provider I will prepare a record of services (also known as a "superbill") for you. You can submit the superbill for reimbursement. Your plan administrator (usually reached by calling the number on the back of your insurance card) can give you detailed information regarding your mental healthcare reimbursement policies.
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. To make sure you understand your financial responsibility for treatment, please verify reimbursement specifics including deductible amounts, number of sessions allowed and pre-authorizations processes. Here are some helpful questions you might ask your carrier:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- Is counseling for relationship / marriage problems covered?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Cash, check, debit and major credit cards (processing fee applies) are accepted for in-office payment. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made.
The courtesy of a minimum require 36-hour advance notice to cancel a scheduled session for any reason is required. This is because I am reserving my scheduled clinical time specifically for you. Without at least 36-hour cancellation notice I am unable to offer this time to anyone else and payment will be required for the full cost of the missed session. Thank you in advance for understanding. Online cancellations (available to established clients) must be completed within 48-hours of your scheduled appointment.
